About Me

Dr. Jessica Glauber was raised in upstate NY but has been an NC local since returning to graduate school at East Carolina University. She participated in various sports growing up such as swimming, diving, running, and lacrosse, but always found herself most at home in a dance studio. She trained in ballet, jazz, modern, and contemporary, and was the captain of her college dance team at the University at Buffalo. Here, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering and worked in the medical device industry for several years before returning to school to earn her Doctor of Physical Therapy at ECU.

Jess has found a passion for combining her two degrees by linking biomechanics with injury prevention and sports performance. During her time at ECU, Jess was able to work side by side with the ECU dance program in developing yearly injury prevention screens and conducting research on risk factors for dance related injuries. She also completed clinical rotations at The Running PTs and at The Ohio State University in their sports medicine department. Both experiences created opportunities to work with runners, collegiate athletes, and recreational athletes which taught her how to properly progress return to sport and increased her depth of sport-specific treatments.

In addition to her educational training, Jess is also a 200-hour certified yoga instructor. Her teaching philosophy combines the importance of biomechanics and strength while safely increasing mobility, and learning how to manage stress and challenges on the mat. She believes all of these aspects of yoga carry over to a safe and efficient return to daily life, hobbies, and athletics.
